On Saturday, there were earthquake shocks felt in Delhi, the NCR, and a few other northern states. A 5.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal, 212 kilometres southeast of Joshimath in Uttarakhand, caused the shocks.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake’s origin was in Nepal at a depth of 10 km, with coordinates of 29.28 N and 81.20 E.
Parts of Uttarakhand, including the cities of New Tehri, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Pauri, and others, experienced earthquakes in addition to the Delhi-NCR. Some areas of Uttar Pradesh were also affected.
The earthquake’s epicentre was 3 kilometres from Silanga, Nepal, and 10 kilometres deep. India, China, and Nepal among the affected nations, according to Pithoragarh Disaster Management Officer BS Mahar, who spoke to PTI.
There have been no reports of injuries or damage as a result of the earthquake in Delhi and the nearby territories.
This occurred just a few days after vibrations from an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 that had its epicentre in western Nepal jolted locals in the area. This is actually the third earthquake to hit Nepal this week. Parts of Uttarakhand, including the cities of New Tehri, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Pauri, and others, felt the earthquakes that originated in Delhi-NCR.
Some areas of Uttar Pradesh were also affected.
