Netizens challenged the seller’s claim, who advertised on eBay a Lipton teabag allegedly used by Queen Elizabeth II.
People all around the globe have been paying their respects to Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-serving British monarch, since her death on September 8 at the age of 96. Some online users are also attempting to sell strange artifacts in the name of Queen Elizabeth II relics.
One of these artifacts is a teabag that was purportedly sneaked out of Windsor Castle in 1998 and ended up on eBay. A vendor in Decatur, Georgia sold the teabag for a staggering $12,000 (Rs 9.54 lakh). In addition, the merchant stated that the teabag had been confirmed by the Institute of Excellence in Certificates of Authenticity (IECA).
The IECA certificate reads: “Appeared on an online auction claiming to sell a tea bag used by Queen Elizabeth and her special exterminator when cockroaches were smuggled out of Windsor Castle .“ However, the seller removed the listing on September 8.
Say Cheese!, a Twitter handle, shared a photo of the teabag for sale on eBay. The teabag was from the Lipton firm, which bills itself as “America’s Favorite Tea.” Netizens questioned the legitimacy of the allegation and responded with some humorous tweets.

“People buys everything,” commented one Twitter user. “Thanos was right. Your half really needs to go,” said another. “Sure, the monarch who owns $400 million in diamonds is drinking ‘America’s favorite Lipton tea,'” another netizen quipped .
An individual wrote, “I don’t believe she used that and if she did, I’m defeated that the literal Queen of European nation is drinking one thing tagged ‘America’s favorite tea.
